Privacy Policy


This document explains the terms under which Paradigmas collects, uses and processes its readers’ data and information through its applications. The rules for the collection, use and treatment of data and information are in accordance with the national legislation and the Regulation of Protection of Personal Data 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016, applicable.

Paradigmas ensures the privacy of its readers as well as the personal data submitted by them, being responsible for the Site https://paradigmas.online (hereinafter, the “Site“).

We request a careful and careful reading of this Privacy Policy, in order to clarify the readers about the data collected, the purposes of the collection, treatment of them and their rights.

This Privacy Policy applies to data collected and processed in the context of readers’ interaction with the Paradigmas website or platform.

1 – Ways of collecting data from its readers by Paradigmas

Paradigmas collects the data of its readers through the following platforms:

Registration of readers on the website (web page);
Subscription to newsletters on the Site (web page);
Readers’ contact via corporate e-mails, namely reader@paradigmas.online.

2 – Data that Paradigmas collects from its readers

Identification and contact: name and e-mail address, sex, photo and location. Whenever a reader registers via any social network, he authorizes the social network to share some of his data with Paradigmas. By registering with your email, we only collect the name and email address.

List of saved reading articles: information of the articles that the reader has saved in his reserved area.

Technical information on computer devices: operating system, resolution, software, search engine or mobile device used to access the Site.

Payment and financial information: name, address and taxpayer number of the subscribing readers.

Anonymous information: registration of activity and navigation on the Site.

3 – Data of Minors

Paradigmas does not intentionally collect (nor distinguish) data from minors under the age of 16. However, with the information that data from minors have been collected, Paradigmas will immediately proceed to delete them.

4 – Use of collected data

Paradigmas uses the data collected for the following purposes:

  • Provision of support to the reader;
  • Compliance with contractual and legal obligations;
  • Provision of information and content of interest to the reader;
  • Improvement of the functioning of the Site, including content management and prioritization.

5 – Data transmission

Paradigmas transmits the data of its readers to its service providers, which are external companies for assistance and support in their business, to the strictest extent possible, being obliged to comply with the rules and regulations for the protection of personal data.

6 – Data Breach

Paradigmas is not responsible for the content accessed through any hyperlink that leads the reader to browse outside the domain https://paradigmas.online, whenever such hyperlinks are the responsibility of third parties.

All data collected is processed automatically and the information sent by users is encrypted and managed with advanced security.

Paradigmas uses several technical and organizational measures for technological protection against attacks on users’ personal information and only subcontracts service providers that guarantee the same level of protection.

The violation, or attempted violation, of databases obtained through the Site will result in the immediate legal liability of the offender(s).

7 – Data subjects’ rights

Readers can exercise their rights to the contact details of the person responsible for processing the personal data of Paradigmas referred to below in this Privacy Policy.

Paradigmas readers have and can exercise the following rights within the scope of their personal data:

Right to Information: at the time of collection or processing, the holder of personal data has the right to be informed as to the purpose of the processing, the person responsible for processing the data, entities to which their data may be communicated, conditions of access and rectification and which mandatory and optional data will be collected.

Right of Access: the holder of personal data has the right to access them, without restrictions or delays, as well as to know what information is available about the origin of the data, the purposes of processing and communicating them to third parties.

Right of Rectification: the holder has the right to demand that the data about him be accurate and current, and may at any time request his rectification from the data controller of Paradigmas.

Right of Erasure: the data subject has the right to have their data ceased to be processed, to be erased and eliminated, under certain conditions, in the case of:

  • They are no longer needed for the purpose they were collected;
  • Holders withdraw their consent or oppose their treatment;
  • If the processing of the data does not comply with the legal provisions.

Right to Limitation of Processing: the holder of personal data is entitled to have his data limited only to what is essential for the purpose of the processing.

Data Portability Right (data transfer): the data subject has the right to receive his data or to request the transmission of it to another entity that becomes the new responsible for his personal data (only if it is technically possible).

Right of Opposition: the data subject has the right to object, at his request and free of charge, to the processing of his personal data for the purposes of direct marketing or any other form of prospecting and that his personal data is communicated to third parties, unless otherwise provided by law.

Right to Knowledge of the existence of a data breach: the holder of the personal data has the right to be informed if there is any security breach that compromises his data.

Right of Complaint to the supervisory authority: the holder of personal data has the right to complain not only to the person responsible for processing the company’s personal data, but also to the supervisory authority, the Portuguese National Data Protection Commission.

8 – Data Retention Period

The data collected are processed for the period strictly necessary to achieve the specific purpose of each one.

The identification data of registered readers and the list of saved reading articles are preserved as long as their relationship with the reader is maintained. So they will remain until the reader proceeds to delete their registration with Paradigmas or request their deletion / cancellation of their subscription.

For the purposes of commercial transactions and compliance with legal billing obligations, the data will be kept for the period legally provided for compliance with legal obligations, as well as for contesting legal situations and for the period that these remain.

10 – Final Considerations

Paradigmas is not responsible for the content of readers’ comments, so any personal data that is disclosed by any reader in this context will be promptly deleted when Paradigmas is notified of the disclosure of such data.
